Ingrid Wicker McCree, Ed.D., was appointed as the Director of Athletics at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) on May 1, 2008, as the first female to hold the permanent title. Her experiences as a college student-athlete, coach, and administrator lends to her success as one of the longest-tenured athletic directors in NCCU history.
The foundation to her success is grounded in a strong faith in God, family and commitment to the total success of the student-athlete in the classroom, in the community, and on the field of play as well as the professional development of her coaches and staff.

GABORONE, Botswana – Bring It Promotions (BIP) and the Botswana Volleyball Federation will host the second annual Ditsala International Cup, a premier women’s volleyball tournament bringing together collegiate student-athletes from the United States and national teams from across Southern Africa. The competition will take place May 29 – June 1, 2025, in Gaborone, Botswana.
Former Olympian and current San Diego Mojo assistant coach Deitre Collins-Parker will lead the delegation, alongside Dr. Ingrid Wicker McCree, a retired NCAA Division I athletic director, head women’s volleyball coach, and Sr. Associate Director of Duke Sports Sciences Institute Sports Performance. Wicker McCree is also CEO/founder of WM Leadership & Legacy Coaching, which helps prepare young leaders and executives for career success.
